All hands on deck: Women leading solutions for environmental Sustainability

Introduction

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Ms Rejoice Mabudafhasi will be hosting the third Women and Environment Conference on the 13-15 August 2008 at the Ranch Hotel in Limpopo.

The 2008 conference will demonstrate the country’s commitment to international conventions and agreements that seek to bring women at the forefront of sustainable development processes. The event will include Conference Plenary with four roundtable sessions broadly focusing on strategies to strengthen women’s role in the fight against climate change, finding solutions for sustainable and affordable energy sources and improving livelihoods towards growing the second economy. Delegates will represent relevant government departments, business, Academia, NGO’s, and civil society groupings.
